The 2025 British F4 Season is right around the corner with young stars looking to make a name for themselves as they start their journey to the topflight series’ in both national and international Motorsports.

Many of the stars of the future come through the ranks of British F4, the likes of Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, Logan Sargeant, Jack Doohan went through British F4 to get to F1. Ricky Collard came through the series on his way to winning the 2024 British GT championship with his father. But 2024 saw the most dominant and record-breaking performance from any driver in the history of the championship by Deagen Fairclough on his way to winning almost half of the races that season and the championship.

However, dominance in most junior formula breeds excitement for the following year as 2025 looks to be an exciting season with rookie drivers flooding in aiming to make a big impression and returning drivers looking to claim the crown. Furthered by the addition of a new cup for the junior drivers who can’t compete at every race, what could 2025 hold for British F4?

British F4 launches The Challenge Cup

Heading into 2025, the series will launch a new class for drivers who are not able to commit to a full 10 round season (30 races) drivers are able to apply for the Challenge Cup and race at seven pre-selected rounds from the 10 rounds that form the 2025 season. The class will have a £25,000 prize for the cup winner which will go towards their full season British F4 entry the following year. Drivers who enter this will also be eligible for the overall championship and if a rookie then the Rookie Cup as well.

The Calendar

The series continues to run a 10-round season across 30 races but there are some quite significant differences compared to last season. While the opening round remains at Donighton Park at the end of April the second round at Brands Hatch on its Indy circuit layout has been replaced by Silverstone’s Grand Prix layout at the beginning of May before rejoining the BTCC’s as a support series for the following three weekends at Snetterton at the end of May, Thruxton at the beginning of June and Oulton Park later that month. Then the series crosses the channel to the Netherlands to race at the Zandvoort circuit at the end of July. The final four races remain as a support series for the BTCC with racing continuing at Knockhill in mid-August and a few weeks later a return to Donighton Park this time on the full Grand Prix circuit. The penultimate round sees the drivers go back to Silverstone this time for the shorter National circuit before taking the championship to the finale at Brands Hatch at the start of October.
