The organisers of the MINI CHALLENGE have announced that both the JCW and JCW Sport classes will switch to sustainable fuels for 2025.

Across 2024, the series conducted several tests throughout the year when they entered a test car in the JCW Sport class as a guest car to test the possibility of introducing it for the upcoming 2025 season. With the tests being successful, as multiple drivers took the guest car across the year, the switch to sustainable fuels is part of the eventual plan to move to 100 percent sustainable fuels in the long term.
For 2025, the cars will run Sunoco’s RFM E25 which is a fuel which is 25% ethanol-based and will be the same for all the cars competing in both classes as the series moves to being fully sustainable. The governing body of motorsport in Britain, Motorsport UK, has stated in wants all championships to start running on sustainable fuel in the next few seasons, not yet confirming a deadline for that to come into mandatory effect. Despite the two top categories of Mini Challenge using the new fuel, the Cooper category will continue to run the CMR Plus fuel for 2025.
